This thrown bowl with hand- built additions is expressive of a tenderness, a feeling of cradling, that one feels toward a beloved.

This thrown bowl with carved rim and porcelain embellishments is tied with an antique coin and 9" hand-painted Japanese chopsticks. Inspired by the traditional Buddhist monk who has one possession: a single bowl.

5. Small "Leaf Bowl"

This handbuilt bowl is inlaid with leaves on the outside and glazed on the rim and inside. The leaves are iron-stained and show all the tiny textures of each individual leaf. The rim is carved and the porcelain foot is thrown.

6. "Tripod Bowl"

This handbuilt bowl is embellished with a lace- textured rim. Three pearl shapes of porcelain were added to the rim and after the firing they were set permanently with three amethysts.

7. "Vision Bowl"

This piece was created with the purpose of ritual and setting of intention. Filled with a rich, "midnight sky" glazed interior, a very female form has been sculpted on the rim and beaded with Swarovski crystals and glass beads.

This handbuilt porcelain bowl is glazed on the in- terior and textured with large and extremely de- tailed impressions of leaves, which were pain- stakingly stained with iron wash before the firing. (Please scroll down for a second view.)

The foot of the bowl is thrown and after the firing it was permanently set with 3 amethysts and 6 Swarovski crystals. ( I create deep openings in the wet clay, calibrated for shrinkage to exactly fit the semi-precious stones in all my pieces.)

This handbuilt porcelain bowl has unglazed im- pressions of juniper leaves and gives the feeling of pine trees dancing around the piece.

Very similar to the bowl above except that the entire outer surface is glazed. The tree forms pick up the glaze and hold it in the deep textures. This piece has a thrown foot set with amethysts and Swarovski crystals. $125.
12. "Heart Bowl" Luscious high temp glaze coupled with lace texture on this small handbuilt bowl is enhanced by the heart centered in the middle of this sweet piece. This bowl is "Dedicated to the One I love" (first created on Valentine"s day).

13. "Pinched Vessels" The earliest forms of ancient pottery that we know of were formed by pinching a round ball of clay gradually out from the center. The resulting forms leave a beautiful texture resembling worn and weathered rock. These three pieces : "Resting", "Open",and "Beach Music" are reminiscent of the natural world. $200 $175. and $250.
